Following the huge success of her debut album, the album further solidified her status as a global dance-pop star and MTV phenomenon of the late 1980s, bringing an even more polished, modern and dynamic sound.
The album is permeated with infectious dance-pop, Euro-pop and hi-NRG rhythms, enriched with striking synthetic arrangements and recognizable, spirited vocal performances. Along with it, extremely popular tracks such as "I Surrender (To the Spirit of the Night)", "Naughty Girls (Need Love Too)" and an energetic cover of the rock classic "I Should Have Known Better" stand out.
