The basic motive for starting the action in the comedy The Miser is the stinginess of the old man Euklion, which is the source and cause of all misunderstandings. Although the ending is not preserved, the work had a great influence on later European comedy writers.

The comedy Boastful Soldier is a combination of comedy of intrigue and comedy of character, and it tells about the greedy, a swaggering and stupid soldier who is outwitted by those who are below him on the social scale.
