"Istok, zapad" (engl. "East, West") je zbirka kratkih priča Salman Rushdieja koja istražuje teme identiteta, kulture i preklapanja Istoka i Zapada.

Knjiga je podijeljena na tri dijela: "Istok", "Zapad" i "Sredina", svaki sa svojim specifičnim pričama.

U pričama se često susreću različiti likovi koji se bore s kulturnim razlikama, ličnim krizama i složenim odnosima između tradicije i modernosti. Rushdie koristi bogat jezik i složene narative kako bi prikazao emotivna stanja i političke tenzije koje proizlaze iz kolonijalizma, emigracije i globalizacije.
