„Istok, Zapad“ je zbirka kratkih priča Salmana Ruždija koja istražuje teme identiteta, kulture i preklapanja između Istoka i Zapada.

Knjiga je podeljena u tri dela: „Istok“, „Zapad“ i „Srednja“, svaki sa svojim specifičnim pričama.

U pričama se često pojavljuju različiti likovi koji se bore sa kulturnim razlikama, ličnim krizama i složenim odnosima između tradicije i modernosti. Ruždi koristi bogat jezik i složene narative da bi prikazao emocionalna stanja i političke tenzije koje proističu iz kolonijalizma, emigracije i globalizacije.
