Raymond Carver i ja

Raymond Carver i ja

Tess Gallagher

This is a book of intimate diary entries, memories, letters, poems, conversations, and essays by writer and Carver's lifelong companion Tess Gallagher.

The writings in this book—the introduction, the essays, the interview, the letters, and the diary entries—are rare notes that follow the existence of equals, written by one of them. Now that I have read them all, I think I understand and appreciate at least some of the pleasures Raymond Carver found in his daily life with Tess Gallagher, in the moments when he watched up close how he found inspiration in her, how it quickly and completely ascended into the poetic mind of the other, and there developed into something that filled them both with admiration and exaltation. I am also grateful, which I cannot fully express, for the opportunity to be their companion—for Tess’s invitation to create this book with her.
