Šuma Striborova
"Stribor's Forest" is a fairy tale from the collection Tales from Ancient Times. The plot tells the story of a young man who finds a snake in an enchanted forest that turns into a girl and becomes his wife.
The young man is blinded by her beauty and does not see that she is actually evil. Because of her, he begins to treat his mother badly, even throwing her out of the house. The mother, although hurt, still loves her son unconditionally. With the help of magical creatures from the forest, she tries to prove to her son the truth about his wife. In the end, she manages to expose the snake-daughter-in-law, who then runs back into the forest. In the end, the mother comes before Stribor, who offers her a choice: she can forget her son and live happily or keep her suffering and love for him. She chooses to love her son, and thus breaks the spell – the son returns to himself, and everything ends happily.
