Proceedings of the scientific symposium on the 40th anniversary of its activities

We present to you the proceedings of the two-day scientific symposium "The Origin and Development of Christian Present", which Christian Present organized on 21 and 22 February 2008 in the large hall of the Zagreb Business Complex (Chromos Tower), Ulica grada Vukovara 271 in Zagreb, on the occasion of the celebration of its 40th anniversary. Namely, the Center for Council Research, Documentation and Information "Christian Present" was officially established by the founding decree of Cardinal Franjo Šeper on 22 February 1968. As part of the festive celebration of the 40th anniversary of Christian Present, the symposium was preceded on 20 February by a thanksgiving mass in the Zagreb Cathedral, presided over by the Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanić. The cardinal's sermon, and the thanks given on that occasion by the director of Christian Present, Dr. Adalbert Rebić, introduce us to the proceedings of the symposium. The symposium itself was conceived so that on the first day, lectures of a more general nature were held and forms of cooperation between Kršćanska sadašnjost and other institutions, people, environments, ideas were presented... On the second day, the specific forms of Kršćanska sadašnjost's activities and some of its publications were mainly presented. The presentations are printed in this collection in the order in which they were delivered, according to the program. The symposium also presented the books Kršćanska sadašnjost in the thoughts of its founders during their development and activities in time (edited by Father Bono Zvonimir Šagi) printed for the occasion, and three books Torn Thoughts for Unforgettability (edited by Stella Tamhina) by Vjekoslav Bajsić, Tomislav Janko Šagi-Bunić and Josip Turčinović. We also present the presentations from that presentation.
