Proljetne oluje: knjiga za mužku omladinu
A Catholic spiritual book for young men about the turbulent spring storms of youth, dealing with inner temptations, building character, and spiritual maturation in difficult times of war. A warm and encouraging message to young men.
In his book Spring Storms, Tihomir Toth addresses young men with understanding and warmth, guiding them through the turbulent and restless period of youth, which he compares to spring storms – a period full of passion, internal conflicts, trials and strong emotions. The work is written in a pastoral, encouraging and understandable tone, with the clear intention of helping young men to remain pure in this turbulent period of life, build a strong and noble character and remain faithful to Christian principles despite the numerous challenges and dangers of the modern world.
Through life examples, stories and spiritual reflections, the author speaks about difficult inner struggles, the importance of self-discipline, purity, friendship, love and responsible preparation for future marriage. The book was translated from Hungarian, and the Croatian edition from 1943 was published by the Spiritual Youth Association of Zagreb. The cover was created by the famous Croatian illustrator Andrija Maurović, while the illustrations in the book are the work of the Hungarian artist Lajos Marton, which further enriched the visual impression and appeal of the work.
Spring Storms became extremely popular among Catholic youth precisely during World War II, because it provided spiritual refuge, moral support and clear guidelines for maturation in very uncertain times. Today it is considered a sought-after antiquarian book with great cultural, historical and educational value.
