Biblija - Stari i Novi Zavjet

The condensed edition of the Bible of the Old and New Testaments, published in 2008 by the publishing house Kršćanska sadašnjost (KS), is one of the most important and widely distributed editions of the Holy Scripture in the Croatian language. It is based on the historical and generally accepted "Zagreb Translation" of the Bible from 1968, created through the collaboration of leading Croatian theologians, biblical scholars and writers (including Jure Kaštelan, Bonaventura Duda, Jerko Fućak, Celestin Tomić and others), which has achieved a superb harmony of theological accuracy and linguistic beauty.

This edition includes the entire Catholic canon: 46 books of the Old Testament (including deuterocanonical books) and 27 books of the New Testament. The 2008 edition is distinguished by its exceptional clarity and functionality – it is equipped with introductory texts to each individual biblical book, which provide the reader with the necessary historical, literary and theological framework. The text is accompanied by extensive marginal notes, footnotes with explanations of less familiar terms, cross-references to related biblical passages, and a glossary of less familiar words. At the very end, there are also color geographical maps of biblical lands.
