Spiritual exercises are a process, a journey, a growth. And every journey, even the longest, begins with the first step. Ignatius wants me to be aware of both every step I take and the goal I am moving towards.
This booklet presents to me the experience of a saint in his search for and finding God. It wants to help me to search for and find God and to come to a personal experience. Ignatius' experience, which he wrote down and left in the "Spiritual Exercises", helps the exercitant (trainee) to personally meet God face to face, face to face. Therefore, both the one who interprets the Spiritual Exercises and the one who performs them should bring themselves into the exercises, their good will, their openness, their generosity. They should open themselves to the action of the Spirit and recognize his action, the path where he is leading them, and at least have a sense of the goal to which he is leading them.
