Hello, Goodbye / I Am The Walrus

The Beatles

On the cult single from 1967, The Beatles combine the melodic "Hello, Goodbye" with the experimental and psychedelic "I Am The Walrus", one of the highlights of the group's creative phase.

The Beatles – Hello, Goodbye / I Am The Walrus, an original UK 7" single released in 1967 on Parlophone, catalog number R 5655.

This is an original UK first pressing, confirmed by an examination of the runout matrix numbers. The matrices are 7XCE 18433-1 / 7XCE 18434-1, characteristic of the original 1967 release. The record features the black Parlophone label, the original four-prong push-out center, ℗1967, Northern Songs/NCB credits, and the "Sold in U.K. Subject to Resale Price Conditions" statement.

The single brings together two different sides of The Beatles at the peak of their studio creativity. McCartney’s "Hello, Goodbye" offers highly melodic and accessible psychedelic pop, while Lennon’s "I Am The Walrus" stands as one of their boldest experimental recordings. George Martin’s orchestration, layered production, and surreal lyrics made it a key work of the group's psychedelic phase and the Magical Mystery Tour era.

The copy comes in the original green Parlophone/EMI company sleeve with the characteristic wavy-cut opening.

Vinyl condition: VG+ – the record has been play-graded.
