Manifest komunističke partije

Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels
Marx, Engels

Marx and Engels’s foundational political text examines class struggle, capitalism and the working class, combining social criticism with a programme for revolutionary change.

First published in 1848, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels’s Manifesto of the Communist Party is among the most influential political texts of the modern era. Written for the Communist League, it combines an interpretation of history through class conflict with a call for working-class organisation.

The opening section traces the rise of the bourgeoisie, industrial development and the expansion of the world market. Capitalism appears as a transformative force that reshapes production and social relationships while generating crises and conflict between capital owners and the proletariat.

The authors then discuss the relationship between communists and the workers’ movement, addressing property, the state, family and nation. The abolition of bourgeois private property is presented as part of a fundamental transformation of production and class relations. A separate section critically examines competing socialist and communist tendencies.

The concluding section considers contemporary opposition movements and advocates international solidarity among workers. Concise, polemical and rhetorically forceful, the manifesto joins analysis to political mobilisation. This 1957 edition presents a key text for studying Marxism, labour history and the ideological struggles of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
