Teka 12 — tekstovi/kritika
An issue exploring metaphor, literary theory and postwar Croatian poetry, with contributions by Kravar, Ricœur, Borges, Zuppa and Šoljan, alongside literary and music criticism.
Issue twelve of Teka brings together theories of metaphor, literary interpretation and criticism of the arts. Published in spring/summer 1976, it places Croatian literary scholarship alongside translations of influential international writers.
A central sequence comprises Zoran Kravar’s Metafora, Raymond Queneau’s Tumačenje metafore, Paul Ricœur’s Metafora i filozofski govor and Jorge Luis Borges’s Metafora. These contrasting approaches raise questions about how meaning emerges and how figurative expression relates to poetic and philosophical language. Literary contributions include Vjeran Zuppa’s Prijatelj Silvestar, poems by Josip Sever and Ante Stamać’s Zagrebačke razglednice.
Antun Šoljan’s essay on comparative approaches to postwar Croatian poetry and its criticism examines the relationship between poetic writing and critical evaluation. Further theoretical contributions address Rousseau, stone artworks and conceptual art.
An extensive review section covers literature, painting and music, including new music and electronic experimentation. The issue offers scholars and readers of cultural journals a record of the intellectual and artistic concerns of the mid-1970s, bringing literary analysis into dialogue with developments across the arts.
