Veli Jože is a literary work by the Croatian writer Vladimir Nazor from 1908. The main character is the brave and good giant Jože, "strong as a bull, with a bushy head", who lives in the vicinity of the Istrian town of Motovun.
Today, some fifty years after the first printing, A Tomb for Boris Davidovich is considered one of the best prose books published in the former Yugoslavia, and it has become part of the world literary canon.
