The comic contains two stories about exploration and adventure at sea. The first story, Drake the Pirate, follows the life and exploits of Francis Drake, a famous English pirate and navigator. During the 16th century, Drake became famous for plundering Spanish ships and colonies, but also for his voyage around the world (1577–1580), the second such endeavor in history. The comic depicts his daring raids on Spanish galleons, exploration of the coasts of America and the Pacific, and conflicts with native tribes and natural disasters. In addition to action elements, Drake's contribution to geographical discoveries and his role in strengthening English naval power are emphasized.
The second story, "Pilots of the South Seas", focuses on the Spanish explorers Álvaro de Mendaño and Pedro Fernandes de Queiroz, who explored the South Pacific in the late 16th and early 17th centuries in search of the mythical Terra Australis. The comic depicts their expeditions, the discovery of the Solomon Islands and their attempts at colonization, with challenges such as storms, disease and disagreements with the crew. Both stories combine historical facts with a spirit of adventure, with dynamic illustrations that bring to life the naval exploits and conflicts of European powers during the Age of Discovery.
