Giuliano Ballarin's Little Sexology Encyclopedia is a practical and concise handbook that covers key topics in sexology, the science of sexuality. Intended for a general audience, the book offers clear information on the anatomy, physiology, psychology and social aspects of sexual life, adapted to the understanding of both laypeople and experts.

The encyclopedia is organized alphabetically, covering concepts from the basic (e.g. reproductive organs, sexual intercourse) to the more complex (e.g. sexual dysfunctions, contraception, homosexuality). Ballarin approaches the topics objectively, avoiding moralizing, which was progressive at the time of publication. It explains biological processes such as hormonal changes, pregnancy and menopause, but also psychological aspects, including love, attraction and sexual deviations. Special attention is paid to the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and the importance of sex education.
