Život i djelo: Rubens

Janice Anderson

Piter Pol Rubens (1577-1640) smatra se najvećim predstavnikom severnog baroka, produžetka italijanske barokne umetnosti 17. veka, koji je uticao na značajan deo umetnosti katoličke Evrope do kasnog 18. veka.

Rubens je bio učenik flamanskih umetnika, dvorski slikar vojvode od Mantove i mnogih evropskih vladara i kraljeva. Ogromna produkcija u njegovom studiju u Antverpenu uključivala je portrete, pejzaže, scene lova i mitološke, istorijske i religiozne kompozicije.
