Ante Kovačević

The book From Today to Tomorrow is a collection of satirical stories and sketches by Ante Kovačević with an autobiographical note.

Ante Kovačević was known as a political activist and dissident, who spent 8.5 years in prison in Zenica for his beliefs. He made his debut in fiction in 1930 with the book of satire and humor "Narodna duša". In a short time, he wrote over seventy short stories and sketches, which are characterized by beautiful language, entertaining storytelling, original humor and mild satire. His later works, such as Čovjek i njegova sjena, testify to his experiences of political persecution and the fight for truth.
