Političke organizacije bosanskohercegovačkih katolika Hrvata

Političke organizacije bosanskohercegovačkih katolika Hrvata

Luka Đaković

This book represents a fundamental historiographical work that analyzes the political organization of Catholic Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the end of the 19th century to 1910.

Đaković explores in detail the development of political ideas and institutions within the Catholic community, with particular emphasis on the role of the Church, the Franciscan Order, and lay associations in shaping national consciousness and political action.

The book covers the period from the Austro-Hungarian occupation in 1878 to the opening of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Parliament in 1910, analyzing how Catholic Croats reacted to political changes and how they organized themselves within the newly created political framework. Special attention is paid to the establishment and activities of the Croatian National Community and the relations between Catholic organizations and other national and religious groups in BiH.

Đaković's work is based on extensive archival material and represents a significant contribution to the understanding of the political history of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the context of the formation of national identities and political movements among Catholic Croats.
