Robinson Kruso

Robinson Kruso

Daniel Defoe

“Robinson Crusoe” is the first and most famous novel about a castaway who had to learn to survive on his own on a deserted island. It was written by Daniel Defoe, making it one of the most famous names in children's and young adult literature.

The novel has become a part of culture to this day, and the word "Robinson" has even become established in the language, which, based on the main character of this novel, "denotes a man, often a hermit, who lives alone in some deserted place and survives on his own hunting. Although the novel was written back in 1719, its story is still very relevant today. Films are made based on it, picture books are written, and the novel is the inspiration for many other stories about people who are stranded on a deserted island.
