
Ahorion
Ahorion is a constellation novel and a mine novel because it combines the literary imprint of the constellation Orion – the ruler of the winter sky – and the mine of knowledge about the prehistoric people who inhabited the area of present-day Vučedol.
The eponymous hero Ahorion is a picture of modern man in his ancient times. With a brilliant plot, the novel Ahorion invites the reader to follow Ahorion and follow him on his wanderings, which the tribe sent him on with the task of finding copper ore. Leaving the prehistoric tribe of Orions will change the life of the main character Ahorion – a hunter and collector of invisible phenomena. The author of the novel, Jasna Horvat, extends Ahorion's skill in controlling sounds to the reader, introducing him to the world of the first European civilization. Although Ahorion's journey through present-day Europe takes place at the time of the emergence of the alphabet and the pyramids in Giza, the author encourages the preoccupations of the ancient hero in all of us, and the reader recognizes them in himself. The modernity of the main character is a reflection of the maturity of a civilization that was at the peak of its development in the third millennium BC, and its headquarters are in today's Vučedol.
