He finds connections to Jonah's old crimes, including a robbery and the disappearance of a precious suitcase. As he becomes entangled in a web of betrayal, Victor realizes that he is a target himself. The plot, set in 2003, leads to an unexpected finale in which Victor discovers the truth about Jonah's murder and his own role in the story.
