Crni čovjek: Izabrane pjesme

Crni čovjek: Izabrane pjesme

Sergej Jesenjin

Black Man: Selected Poems brings a selection of Sergei Yesenin's most famous poems – lyrics imbued with love, longing, nature, transience, and a tragic sense of human destiny.

The selection prepared by Zvonimir Golob brings together the most representative poems of Sergey Yesenin, one of the greatest Russian lyric poets of the 20th century. From early poems inspired by nature and his native village to later, melancholic verses marked by a sense of loneliness, love disappointments and a foreboding of death, the collection reveals the full breadth of his poetic world. The title poem The Black Man, one of Yesenin's most poignant works, is a powerful confrontation with one's own doubts and inner demons. Golob's selection provides a comprehensive insight into the poetry of the author whose sincere emotion, musicality of verse and exceptional lyrical power still resonate strongly with readers today.
