Lords Of The Boards

Lords Of The Boards

Guano Apes

The cult breakthrough single by German alt-metal band Guano Apes from 1997 brings explosive energy, fierce riffs and the inimitable vocals of Sandra Nasić.

Released in October 1997, “Lords of the Boards” is the second and undoubtedly most recognizable single by German alternative rock/metal band Guano Apes. The song was originally created as the official anthem of the European Snowboarding Championships in LAAX, but its incredible energy and raw power soon turned it into a timeless classic of the alternative and nu-metal scene of the late 1990s.

The soundscape is dominated by Henning Rümenapp’s explosive, heavy guitar riffs, a powerful rhythm section, and singer Sandra Nasić’s recognizable, powerful vocals, which effortlessly transition from melodic sections to energetic choruses. The single brought the band immense popularity across Europe, launching their debut album “Proud Like a God” to the top of the music charts and becoming the unofficial anthem of an entire generation and extreme sports.

In addition to the title track, this CD release also includes additional tracks and remixes that round out the band's sonic signature at their most energetic stage. This single release is a valuable collector's item for all fans of the fierce crossover sound, nu-metal and unadulterated musical energy of the 90s.
