One of the world's most popular works of humorous prose written in 1921-1923. years. The main character, the "good soldier" Josef Švejk, is a participant in World War I.

Josef gets out of numerous seemingly hopeless situations thanks to his rare gift - the spontaneous verbalization of civilian and wartime experiences. In addition to the main character, Hašek also provides a whole gallery of Švejk's "opponents" and "companions". A novel about human values opposed to absurdity, violence and chaos.
