After the death of her sister, Eva Ward leaves Hollywood and returns to the only place where she feels she belongs, to an old house on the coast of Cornwall, England. She seeks comfort in the memories of long-ago summers, but what she finds are mysterious voices and hidden paths that drag her not only into the past, but also into the arms of a man who is not from her time.
Eva soon discovers that the man she meets, Daniel Butler, is very real and that he has found himself in a world of intrigue, betrayal and love for which time is no obstacle.
