Although he grows up among animals, Mowgli is constantly torn between two worlds – human and animal. Throughout the story, he faces many challenges: being kidnapped by monkeys, fighting Shere Khan, and finally returning to the people, where he also fails to find true belonging.
In addition to Mowgli's adventures, the collection also contains other animal stories that convey moral lessons, such as the stories of the white seal Kotick and the brave mongoose Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.
