Oblak

Oblak

Dobriša Cesarić

"Oblak" is a collection of selected poems by Dobriša Cesarić, one of the most important Croatian poets of the 20th century.

Cesarić's poetic expression is marked by simplicity, sensitivity and melancholy, and his lyrics often address the transience, beauty of everyday life and human suffering.

The poem Oblak, after which the collection is named, symbolizes loneliness and the elusiveness of fate. Through images of nature and the life of a small man, Cesarić creates deeply emotional verses that are close to readers of all generations. His poetry reflects nostalgia, compassion and philosophical reflection on life and death.

The collection Oblak brings together some of his most famous works, including the poems Voćka poslije kiše, Slap and Balada iz predgrađa, which are an indispensable part of Croatian literary heritage.
