Za pripovetku Đavo i njegov šegrt Vuk St. Karadžić kaže da mu ga je „1829. godine u ambulanti Zemusnkome ispričao i napisao Gruje Mehandžijić iz Sentomaša“. Za pripovetku Laž za okladu kaže da ju je „čuo još u Tršiću”.
