Tmina zatvorskog sna

Radnja prati Šeksa kroz tamu zatvorskog života – „tam sna“ kao metaforu za halucinacije, izolaciju i psihološki pritisak u kome se stvarnost meša sa noćnim morama.

Knjiga je zasnovana na dnevnicima koje je Šeks vodio tokom svog šestomesečnog zatvora u Staroj Gradiški (poznatoj kao jedan od najozloglašenijih jugoslovenskih zatvora za političke zatvorenike) krajem 1980-ih. Šeks, tada aktivista za ljudska prava (član PEN-a i Amnesti internešenela), osuđen je na pola godine zatvora „za zlato“ – verovatno u kontekstu politički motivisanih optužbi za ekonomske prevare ili sličan „delikt misli“, povezan sa njegovim ranijim radom o slobodi savesti i intimnim dnevnicima (npr. „Intimni dnevnik i razmišljanja“ iz 1989). Pre zatvora, Šeks je bio isključen iz Komunističke partije, izgubio je posao u tužilaštvu i advokatsku licencu, što ga je dovelo do „konkursa pogrebnika“ u Osijeku – simboličnog „sahranjivanja“ njegove karijere pod pritiskom režima.
