Psiho-pedagoški tretman školske djece s teškoćama u učenju i ponašanju

The author starts from the idea that difficulties in learning, behavior and adaptation cannot be reduced to “discipline” or “poor performance”, but arise from the complex interactions of family, school and personal factors. She describes the typical psychological characteristics of children of younger and older primary school age: emotional sensitivity, the need for security, the development of self-esteem and growing social awareness. In doing so, she lays the foundation for understanding behavioral difficulties. The emphasis is on a combination of pedagogical counseling, individual work, group work, cooperation with the family and the creation of a safe and stimulating school environment. To create a model of a school environment in which adults do not only react to the consequences (e.g. bad behavior), but also understand the causes and systematically help the child to develop emotional stability, work habits and healthy relationships.
