Velikani likovne umjetnosti #1: Rembrandt - Misterij otkrivene forme
Michael Bockemühl
Each book in Taschen's Basic Art series contains a detailed chronological summary of the artist's life and work, covering the artist's cultural and historical significance, approximately 100 color illustrations with explanations, and a brief biography.
Michael Bockemuehl's book follows the life and creative path of the great Flemish painter, but also more than that – in it, the author describes Rembrandt as both a thinker and a psychologist. Describing several of the most important paintings, their motifs and thematic foundations, painting techniques, and composition, the author sheds light on the greatness of the painter's genius and his place in the world of European and world Baroque painting. At the end of the book, an overview of basic biographical facts is given, from his birth in 1606 to the painter's death in 1669.
