Jedanaest minuta

Jedanaest minuta

Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho's novel Eleven Minutes is an intimate and spiritual story about the search for love, freedom, and self-discovery, told through the life of a young Brazilian woman, Maria.

Maria, a girl from a humble village, after being disappointed in her first love, concludes that love always leads to suffering. In search of a better life, she goes to Geneva, hoping for fame and fortune. However, faced with reality, she ends up as a dancer and then a prostitute.

Despite her professional success in her new role, Maria feels emotionally empty. Her view of love changes when she meets Ralf, a young painter who attracts her not only physically, but also spiritually. Through their relationship, Maria questions the boundaries between body and soul, passion and love, and confronts her own fears and desires.

Eleven minutes explores the complex relationships between sexuality and spirituality, and asks whether true love can be found even in the most unexpected circumstances. Through Maria's story, Coelho offers a meditation on the human need for connection, understanding and love, regardless of life's circumstances.
