Žuti pas

Žuti pas

Georges Simenon

The story takes place in the small port town of Concarneau in Brittany, where a series of mysterious events instill fear among the residents.

It all begins when the local merchant Mostaguen is shot by a gunshot while returning home. Although he survives, new strange incidents soon follow, connected to a group of prominent citizens who gather daily at the hotel and café "Admiral". At the same time, a thin yellow dog appears in the town, which seems to follow events and is always near the scene of the accident. The residents become increasingly anxious, and distrust and fear grow among friends. Inspector Maigret comes to investigate the case. Instead of jumping to conclusions, he carefully observes people's behavior, their relationships and hidden motives. He gradually discovers that behind the peaceful exterior of the small town there are secrets, old conflicts and a sense of guilt.
