Marksovo shvatanje čoveka

Marksovo shvatanje čoveka

A philosophical and sociological study of Erich Fromm. The author reinterprets the thought of Karl Marx, emphasizing his neglected humanism, critique of alienation, and vision of liberation and full human development.

"Marx's Concept of Man" (originally published in 1961) is one of the most important and influential works by Erich Fromm, in which the author breaks down deep-rooted misconceptions and simplifications about the philosophy of Karl Marx. In this lucid work, Fromm contrasts dogmatic, vulgar-materialist, and Soviet interpretations of Marx's thought with his own reading based on the principles of radical humanism. Fromm places the main emphasis on Marx's early works, especially the "Economic-Philosophical Manuscripts of 1844" (which he also translates as part of this book). The author argues that Marx's primary goal was not mere economic determinism or the establishment of a technocratic system, but the liberation of man from the shackles of alienation. Fromm explains how work in a capitalist society alienates man from the products of his own labor, from the labor process itself, from other people, and ultimately from his own essential human nature. Instead of reducing man to an "economic animal", Marx's vision of socialism represents the return of man to himself, the creation of a society in which the economic system is at the service of the development of all human creative potential, empathy and freedom. Written in an extremely clear, engaging and well-argued manner, the book "Marx's Understanding of Man" is essential reading for understanding the humanistic foundations of social theory and the fight against alienation in the modern world.
