Jurij Mihajlovič Lotman

Lotman komentira tehnički progres kao kulturološki problem, znanstvena otkrića, modu, politiku, običaje, promatrajući ih kao kulturne sustave koji funkcioniraju izmjenom dvaju osnovnih procesa - linearnog razvoja kulture i trenutka "eksplozije".

Lotman je osnivač Tartusko-moskovske škole strukturalne poetike i semiotike koja je nastavila tradiciju ruske formalne škole i strukturalne lingvistike, ali je analizom željela obuhvatiti i cjelokupnu kulturu. Pa tako komentira tehnički progres kao kulturološki problem, a znanstvena otkrića, modu, politiku i običaje kao kulturne sustave koji funkcioniraju izmjenom dvaju osnovnih procesa – linearnog razvoja kulture i trenutka „eksplozije”.
