Oblik duše

Oblik duše (The Shape of the Soul) is a poetry collection by one of the most prominent contemporary Croatian poets, Gordana Benić. Known for her distinctive, visually rich, and meditative lyricism, the author continues in this work to explore the realms where the real and the mystical, the historical and the metaphysical, converge. Gordana Benić’s poetic world is deeply rooted in the Mediterranean landscape—both physical and spiritual—drawing particularly on motifs such as Diocletian’s Palace, ancient stone, the sea, shadows, and a unique quality of light. Yet, in Oblik duše, this physical space serves merely as a backdrop for an inner pilgrimage.
