„Družba Isusova“ (1969) Jiržija Šotole, debitantsko delo češkog pesnika, je istorijski roman smešten u vreme kontrareformacije, koji suptilno aludira na savremene uslove u Čehoslovačkoj pod komunizmom.

Radnja prati oca Vojteha Hada i groficu Mariju Maksimilijanu, čije se sudbine prepliću u sukobu između pojedinca i moćnog katoličkog jezuitskog reda. Roman istražuje teme poslušnosti, ideološkog ugnjetavanja i gubitka duhovne i ljudske slobode. Vojteh Had, jezuitski sveštenik, suočava se sa unutrašnjim sukobom između svoje savesti i strogih pravila reda, gde je poslušnost najviša vrednost. Grofica Marija Maksimilijana, strastvena i buntovna, dolazi u sukob sa crkvenom hijerarhijom, što dovodi do njenog duhovnog i fizičkog pada. Njihovi putevi vode do tragičnog kraja, gde ideologija guši čovečanstvo, ostavljajući ih kao „prazne fizičke ljušture“. Roman je mračan, sa teškom atmosferom, ali i slojevitom naracijom i dijalozima koji ističu moralne dileme. Šotola majstorski koristi istorijski kontekst da kritikuje totalitarne sisteme, čineći roman univerzalnim. Hrvatski kritičar Ljudevit Bauer ga je uporedio sa romanom Derviš i smrt Meše Selimovića zbog sličnih tema sukoba između pojedinca i sistema. Objavljen 1975. godine u Hrvatskoj, roman je dobio kritičke pohvale i adaptiran je u film 2004. godine, u režiji Silvija Petranovića.
